Imanmade Natural Skincare
The latest of my Natural Loves is Imanmade, a new Skincare range made with Natural, Fairtrade ingredients.
I’ve been a big fan of the Imanmade range since its creation almost two years ago, in a cosy little kitchen in East London.
Its creator, Iman has been mixing and blending her own creams, lotions and oils for personal use since 2008; the Imanmade brand came about after many unsuccessful attempts to remedy Her own skin complaints, as well as those of her young sons.
The range is slowly starting to expand, and so far the products available to buy at the Imanmade Etsy store are;
- Nourishing Body Butters
- Peppermint Lip Balm
- Face Oil (launches next week)
It’s a tough call for me to pick my favourite products from the Imanmade range; they’re all fantastic, but I’m going to share a few thoughts with you here.
Nourishing Body Butter
The first of the Imanmade range, these Butters are whipped to perfection and are meltingly soft.
The base ingredients for the Original Butter include Organic Unrefined Shea Butter, Jojoba and Virgin Coconut Oils. There are also two naturally fragranced Butters available; Lavender & Neroli and my personal favourite, Monoi.
The Imanmade Nourishing Body Butter does exactly what it says on the label.
I use this as an all-over moisturiser (and even in my hair) on dry skin, and straight from the Shower. The Butters absorb really well; as I mentioned before they’re really soft - there’s no need to warm them up to a pliable consistency, something that you need to do with other brands.
The subtle fragrance of the Lavender & Neroli and the Monoi Butters lasts, and all of the Butters leave your skin feeling soft and well moisturised throughout the day or night, with a really nice, non-greasy sheen.
All Imanmade Nourishing Body Butters are available in 30g, 85g and 175g jars.
Peppermint Lip Balm
I love me a good Lip Balm and I think I may have found my Holy Grail!
The Imanmade Peppermint Lip Balm contains Mango Butter and Vitamin E. Bonuses for me are that it’s very light, it’s not greasy and doesn’t leave your lips looking glossy. The minty fragrance isn’t too overpowering (I hate when You can taste Lip Balm) and its texture isn’t ‘bitty’ like some other Mint Lip Balms that I’ve tried.
I find that this Lip Balm lasts quite well too; I keep one by my bed, and after a slick before bedtime, this pretty much stays on until the morning.
Face Oil
I started using the Imanmade Face Oil as part of the Oil Cleansing Method last year, and I was really pleased with the results.
Now, I use the Face Oil as a Primer under my make-up (yes, it’s that light), and in place of a Night Cream. Again, I can’t fault the staying power of Imanmade products; the Face Oil really moisturises and gives a nice, healthy glow to the skin. It doesn’t leave your face feeling greasy or looking shiny, and it doesn’t leave your pores feeling clogged up.
Blended with one of my favourite oils (Sweet Almond), the Imanmade Face Oil also contains Jojoba and Wheatgerm Oils, as well as Vitamin E.
The Imanmade Face Oil will be available online next week.
I genuinely cannot praise the Imanmade range enough.
For ingredients, it’s on point. Imanmade uses 100% Natural Butters and Essential Oils.
For quality, again each product is fantastic. The Butters in particular claim to ‘soften and protect dry, sensitive skin’ and do exactly that.
All products in the Imanmade range are suitable for Vegans.
On price, I’m very impressed. An 85g jar of Body Butter costs just £7, and a little really does go a long way, owing to the richness of it.
Overall Rating: 10 out of 10
